Enyimba will fight Zamalek – Ojo

Zamalek welcome Enyimba to Alexandria tonight at 7.30pm Nigerian time in an encounter to determine the team to join already qualified Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Egyptian giants won the first game 1-0 in Port Harcourt in June, but Ojo will fancy his team’s chances in the coastal town of Alexandria.

“If they can beat us in Nigeria, we can beat them at their own home,” said Ojo. “We are ready to give Zamalek a big fight in this match.

“This will decide who qualifies for the next round of the competition.”

Enyimba are yet to record a point after two rounds of matches in the group stage of the competition. They will need to beat Zamalek, who have three points, to get their campaign back on track as they have a final game at home against nine-point Sundowns.

Ojo is one of five players who have joined the Enyimba squad in Egypt after featuring for the NPFL All-Stars in a friendly against Valencia in Spain.

The others are skipper Chinedu Udoji, goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai, Chima Akas and Joseph Osadiaye.

Enyimba have left out Nigeria U23 winger Emmanuel Etor and Ezekiel Bassey, who has struggled for form this season.
